Client Account Manager

As a leader in data, analytics and AI for 30 years, Datamine is seeking someone to join our Client Implementation team to focus on Account Management and consultative engagement within our existing clients. Within this exciting role you will keep across client delivery, while engaging with customers to identify other business challenges they are facing, and identifying opportunities for Datamine to add more value.

About the role
We are looking for a proactive client account manager that seeks out opportunity with potential and current clients.
This role straddles the delivery and implementation team as well as our sales function to create meaningful professional relationships with our clients. This involves collaborating with both internal teams and clients to understand where opportunities might exist. The ideal candidate takes a consultative approach to get to the root of clients’ business problems to show them the value that will be offered by solving them – focusing on tangible business outcomes.
A week in the life of an Account Manager might involve:
- Proactively engaging with clients to strengthen relationships, check in on progress, and uncover new opportunities to support them
- Using your commercial acumen and market insight to spot emerging challenges or shifts in the business landscape, then working with customers to explore how we might support
- Helping align the work we are doing with the companies strategic goals
- Leading consulting and discovery conversations with clients to deeply understand a business problem they are facing
- Clarifying project deliverables with clients and internal teams
- Writing a proposal for a solution to solve a clients’ problem
- Staying close to existing delivery to understand progress without too much delivery management
You would fit right in at Datamine if you have:
- 5 years of commercial experience, preferably in a consulting environment
- A track record in B2B relationship/account management, customer success, delivery roles
- A tertiary degree (likely in Business/Commerce or similar)
- Solid skills in Microsoft Suite
- A desire to be part of a collaborative team that puts overall business success ahead of individual achievements
- Business insights/commercial acumen that you can apply across industries
- A proactive approach, you take ownership over your responsibilities.
- High written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to juggle priorities, making it look easy
- Know how to talk to people, both of the technical and non-technical variety (be personable)
- The ability to bring clarity and problem solve
- A desire to continue learning and share your learnings with others
- A collaborative approach to the team and working with clients
